I had a little trouble with Cicero’s accent as it was a bit hard to pin down and at times seemed hard to distinguish from Tom’s. There are side characters with a variety of accents that are also handled nicely, though Noah’s voice seems to change a bit throughout the story. Tom’s Irish accent is excellent and really holds strong throughout the book. The book takes place in New York in the late 1800s, so a lot of the characters are recent immigrants. The book is narrated by Tristan James and he handles the story and the variety of accents quite well. Before you go too far, you can check out my review of the book here to get a summary of the plot, as well as my thoughts on the story. So I was really excited to get a chance to revisit Hexbreaker, this time in audio. I have adored all three of the books so far in this Hexworld series and totally recommend them whole heartedly. I absolutely love this world she has created with witches and familiars and mysteries, all in the combination of historical and paranormal that Hawk does so well. Hawk, and I am particularly excited about her latest series about the Metropolitan Witch Police and their familiars. I am a total fan girl of all things Jordan L.
